By air stop

The easiest way to reach us is a short flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to the Maasai Mara.

Most international flights land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), a 30 to 40 minute drive from Wilson. Passport control at JKIA can be slow, so allow plenty of time between flights.

Our nearest airstrip is Ngerende, about 20 minutes from Naretoi by road. We will arrange transfers from the airstrip to your accommodation.

Safari planes are small, so the luggage allowance is strict: usually 15kg per person plus a small piece of hand luggage, and soft-sided bags are preferred. Please check with your airline.

By road stop

The drive from Nairobi takes approximately 5 to 6 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

It takes you through the Great Rift Valley, with the final stretch along some rather bumpy bush roads! For a coffee, a loo break and a top-up of fuel, we’d recommend the petrol station with Artcaffé in Narok.

We’ve mapped out the route for you. One section shows as a footpath, but it’s a public dirt road you can drive, which is why the route is split into sections.

Before you travel stop

Please check Kenya’s entry requirements for your passport. The latest information is on the official Kenya eTA website (opens in a new tab).

We also recommend checking with your doctor about vaccinations and malaria prevention, and making sure you have suitable travel insurance.
